For 2025, Chardonnay was sourced from the feted Warner Vineyard. Situated at 450m in elevation on the Beechworth-Wangaratta road.
The grapes are farmed organically with scrupulous attention to detail by Peter Graham (Domenica Winery - right next door). With more than 25 years working this land, my grapes could not be in better hands.
The ultimate drawcard for Beechworth is decomposed granite - providing structure and power in Chardonnay without sacrificing balance or freshness. Stone fruit, lemon curd, almond and a hint of spice with a long, textured palate.
Fermentation occurred naturally in a mix of new and neutral Austrian oak. Aged on lees without disruption for 10 months before bottling.
The 2025 vintage was the earliest on record and full of promise. We have been in love with these wines in our cellar throughout their first year and are eager to finally share them. No doubt if you have the patience, this release will age well into the next 5-10 years.
